OCBC Cycle 2012

So here's the story to my first Cycling Challenge..

Jam has planned for us to meet at 5am @ Suntec Carpark. So my xg came to fetch me and brought me kuey lapis :D WE ARRIVED ON TIME!!! Plus... we're the first to arrive. Oh yeah!

(okay the catch is we haven't been really disciplined with our schedules so that was pretty impressive.)

Then Hansong aka 又老又大 came. Followed by Clement aka 老大 no. 2 came. Soon after Jam and Cindy came too with our number tags. So we took some time to pin up the tags and off we go to collect the bikes!

(we rented the bikes...)

Walked to the bike renting area. Matched our unique number wrist-tag and got our bike. Excited much!!! Just when we were ready to get moving... Clement realised his big fat bottle couldn't fit into the bike's slot so he went back to carpark and put the bottle.. and after leaving the rental vicinity.. I realised my bike got some weird abrasion sound... xg to the rescue!

(my engineer knows everything. mechanical, electrical, electronics... simi sai he also know one... hahahaha)

Fixed the bike, met up with everyone and clement was back. So we took photos!!!

(no photos now... cos he refused to send me the group photos cos Jam hasn't send him our couple photos...)

And off we go!!! Took a short walk and pushed our bikes with many many many people to the starting line. Took us about 30 minutes to start the challenge..

And woohoo... there we go!!!

I swear I don't cycle very fast. I think I was leading at first... and nobody was catching up!!! WHY!!! I worried that I have to do the 39km alone zomggggggg!!!

Not long after till xg came to the rescue again!!!

"Baby! Why you so fast!! Everyone is behind you lehhh!!!"

Alright... maintain pace with everyone.

I'm not a confident cyclist. So I MUST have my two hands on the bicycle hahahaha. After 10 minutes... my nose itchy!!!!

He had a great laugh and attempted to scratch for me while cycling beside me...

*No stunts please!*

So we cycled together with HS and C...

Everyone taking over everyone at times...

Chitchatting...

Eating.. Drinking.. (not me though.. remember my 2 hands? haha)

Was horrified to see the downslope along ecp/aye.

It took us long enough to reach the turning point. And the organiser so bad one.. they prompt us the 'u-turn' point SUPER EARLY. Was at least 3km... I cycle until lose hope.. hahaha...

Soon after the long awaited u-turn... We stopped at the first pit-stop. Oh yea... xg adjusted my seat higher to increase efficiency..

Return lap was fun, easy, quick...

Xg and I had enough of slow cycling so everyone was chionging...

There's this epic up-slope which MANY MANY MANY people walked and pushed their bike up... I suggested to conquer the slope without stopping.. and without changing gear! As expected, xg agreed!!!! hahahaha okay big mistake. xg gimme chance.. I changed gear and conquered it without stopping :D

Yay! All hail to big muscley thighs!!!! And cheers to the power of love <3

Guess what?

Next up.. is the deadly down-slope.

SUPER DUPER HIGH SPEED AND I ALMOST DIED.

I was trying to use the brakes to control my speed... but I didn't do it correctly. And almost lose my balance.. almost collided into someone... I can see myself zooming past MANY cyclists. That was scary :(

I didn't die there, thank all the gods.

(Xg was amazed by my skills and went "Ohhh woahhhhh!!!" while I almost created some chain accidents D: down the scary turning slope...)

*suffering from high speed phobia every time I recall*

Was the last km and we agreed to chiong all our way together... zooming past many cyclists together with our teamwork...

Next moment... I found myself collided into a cyclist who came into my way and I flew out of my bike.. landed on my left hip, shoulder and had my head knocked hard against the road... I never felt the importance of helmet this much before...

Xg came to the rescue again!!!

He said he had this feeling that I will get into an accident at that turn.

Sigh.

He got off the bicycle and walk with me while he push both bicycles.

I feel so burden again :(

Some more we have less than 1 km left!!!

So I told him to get on and we complete the last few hundreds of metres together :D

Yay!!!

Received our medals... but I super no mood :[ cos super pain :'(

Went to queue up to return our bikes...

Then he assessed my injuries using his expired medic skills wahaha...

He then brought me to the first aid place to let them check. Good thing is that his expired medic skills is still useful and shall be certified valid by meeee!

I have never gotten such injuries on my upper body :( It was unbearable...

(Yes.. knees and ankles pains are small kick now. I get them for over a decade now...)

Went for breakfast at Flyer de foodcourt place... think it's called 美食街...

Had bak chor mee and char kway teow...

Awesome not.. after all these time spent... it's not even noon yet!!!

Felt so fulfilling.. hahahha

He sent me home and I went to zzzzz straight after. He's been waiting for me and trying to get hold of me the whole afternoon but to no avail... all phones in silent/vibration mode. When I woke up it's already time for Wushu Display at night. No couple time anymore :(

And so I had tonnes of problem changing clothes and doing alot of things due to the pain :'(

Yesterday he came to fetch me from work and we went home for couple time. He 推 my shoulder for me and I had so much laughter and screams hahahahaha. We both enjoyed that fun and painful (unfortunately only I'm experiencing the pain) massaging session...

Okay.. and we fell asleep again. lol!!!

For the first time we took bus together as he sent me home. Not bad right.. I got direct bus to his place!! MUAHAHAHAHAHA.

Okay.. so to and fro journey for him took 3 hours (supposedly). Plus the overshot time which landed him up in Pasir Ris and he WALKED home... He reach home at past midnight already. *guilty*

We had our daily phone call and I surrendered to the sleepy bug hahaha...

(okay I'm off the topic..)

My shoulder is getting better now :)

And the phobia of high speed activity is still very strong. Sigh.

Anyhow, it's a fun experience for all of us!!!

Next up.. Sundown Marathon???
*no money*

ending here, abruptly.
